Tips to cook or bake chicken breast

For moist and tender chicken breasts every time:

  • Flatten the chicken breast.
  • Season the chicken breast generously.
  • If using a skillet on the stove and the recipe doesn’t give specific instructions: cook chicken breasts over medium heat for 1 minute without moving them. This will develop a nice “crust” on the chicken breast that will yield delicious flavor. Then flip it over and continue to cook chicken breasts on low.
  • You can cut the chicken breasts into cubes to help a marinade coat the chicken deeper, and speed up the cooking time in the pan or in the oven.

Can we use fresh for frozen chicken breasts indifferently?

Keep in mind that frozen chicken breasts should always be thawed before cooking or roasting. Some exceptions include Instant Pot chicken breast recipes or baked chicken breast recipes, but in general, it just renders too much water and the meat can end up cooking unevenly and become rubbery. So let your frozen chicken breasts thaw in the fridge or in a container with cold water, pat them dry and you’re ready to cook!
