Roasted pork tenderloin recipe

You’ll love this easy method for roasting pork tenderloin. Browning the pork tenderloins forms a golden crust that seals in the juices and makes the meat super tender. Pork tenderloins tend to be budget-friendly, and the quick preparation makes this roasted pork tenderloin recipe an excellent option for a casual dinner with family, yet still impressive for a Holiday gathering. Add sliced oranges, rosemary sprigs, or even pomegranate quarters for an impressive garnish!

How to roast pork tenderloin

To bake pork tenderloin: First, make the rub for the pork tenderloins: Combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Rub the spice mix over the pork tenderloins.

In a skillet, sear the pork tenderloins until browned on all sides, about 3 to 5 minutes per side. Do not burn the spices; otherwise, it may taste bitter.

Make the sauce: Combine garlic, honey, soy sauce, mustard, Sriracha, and oil. Brush this mixture over the pork tenderloins arranged in a baking dish.

Roast the pork tenderloins for 15 minutes, then remove them from the oven. To prevent the meat from drying up, we put a piece of foil over the tenderloins so the top doesn’t burn. Continue roasting for 15 minutes until the internal temperature of the pork tenderloins reaches 145˚F (62ºC).

Allow to rest, then slice the roasted pork tenderloins against the grain and serve, garnished with rosemary, orange slices, and the reserved sauce on the side. See more detailed instructions below!

Directions

1. How to make this baked pork tenderloin recipe: Preheat your oven to 375˚F (190ºC). Line a baking dish with aluminum foil or parchment paper and set it aside. Pat dry the pork tenderloins with paper towels.

2. In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Rub this spice mix all over the pork tenderloins.

3. In a skillet, heat one tablespoon olive oil over medium heat and sear the pork tenderloins until browned on all sides, about 3 to 5 minutes per side. Transfer the pork tenderloins to the prepared baking dish. There is no need to cook the meat here fully; we give some color and “lock up” the moisture.

4. In a bowl, combine garlic, honey, soy sauce, mustard, Sriracha, and oil; whisk until well combined. Brush this mixture over the browned pork tenderloins. Keep some of the mixture for serving. Roast the pork tenderloins for 15 minutes, then remove them from the oven.

5. Tent a piece of foil over the pork tenderloins so the top doesn’t burn, but the inside continues to cook evenly. Put back in the oven and continue to cook for 15 more minutes, or until the internal temperature of the pork loins reaches 145˚F (62ºC). Use an Instant Read Thermometer to check for doneness.

6. Remove the baking dish from the oven and rest for 10 minutes, keeping the foil on top. Slice the roasted pork tenderloins against the grain and serve, garnished with rosemary, orange slices, and the reserved glaze on the side. Enjoy! ❤️

Tips for the roasted pork tenderloin recipe

  • The pork tenderloins can be rubbed one day ahead and kept covered in the refrigerator. This will allow the delicious flavors of the seasoning to infuse the meat.
  • Use a cast-iron skillet to brown the tenderloins. It is great for even heat distribution. Make sure to preheat the skillet before adding the pork tenderloin.
  • Do not overcook: Pork tenderloin is a very lean meat. If overcooked, it can become dry.
  • Rest the tenderloins before slicing so the juices reflow into the meat and make it extra tender!

How do we know when the pork tenderloins are done?

When roasting pork tenderloin, it should be roasted to a temperature of 145°F (62ºC), according to the USDA. Roasting your pork tenderloin to 145° F is a medium cook, which means it should be just a touch of pink in the middle, which is perfect for flavorful and juicy meat.

What should be served with this delicious pork tenderloin?

For a Holiday meal, we recommend serving the roasted pork tenderloins with roasted asparagus, roasted Brussels sprouts, sweet potato mash, or our delicious spaghetti squash mash!

How and how long to keep the pork tenderloin leftovers

Leftover pork loin can be refrigerated for up to 3 days, or frozen in a freezer-safe container for three months. Reheat covered in the oven at 350ºF (175ºC) until heated through. Add a few drops of water to the bottom of the baking dish to loosen the juices.

Even my resolute pork hating daughter enjoyed this! I was very happy with how easy the steps were to follow but there were way way too many pictures of the dishes on the page. That was the singular only downside to this entire pin, site, and recipe. And just a side note, I NEVER cook as I could burn water but I cooked this myself and I am quite proud I followed your directions instead of "follow your gut" like I usually do. :)

Made this tonight however I doubled up the dry for the rub to coat well. Made it in cast iron dutch oven first Browning meat then glaze and bake. I added remaining sauce to pot while meat rested. Very delicious! Will make additional sauce tomorrow for leftovers. 145 is spot on. Super moist. No more bland pork loins! Not real spicy either for peeps who don't like hot.

Easy to prep. I got all of the dry and wet ingredients ready to go in the morning. I omitted the rosemary only because I’m not crazy about that spice and I forgot the garlic (silly me! I love garlic!). Browned them then baked with a few yukon potatoes. Came out at 149°, let it rest, and oh my! Super flavorful, juicy and tender. Recipe is definitely a keeper. Thank you.

Delicious!! I was a bit skeptical because the recipe didn’t call for an overnight marinade, but tried it as written anyway. Can’t believe how much flavor this recipe produces! The whole family loved this recipe, and it’s now in our Sunday Dinner rotation. Thanks for another awesome recipe - 37 out of 10!

I like make-ahead recipes when entertaining. This looks so delicious I’m wondering if I can season and sear in advance, then later on when guests arrive, pop it in the oven? Anyone try that?

Made this last night and followed the recipe exactly. However, I only used half of the sriracha sauce that the recipe called for because I have young kids and wasn’t sure how spicy it would be. My kids and husband loved it! I recommend this recipe and will definitely be making it again!

I wanted to make note since no one else did but we grilled this and it came out great. Followed all the directions but instead of sear/bake, just put on the grill until it was done. Probably took 20-30 minutes until it was cooked through. We split the sauce to baste some and keep some on the side to pour over.

This was the best pork loin I have ever eaten! I cooked dinner for my 91 year old parents and they kept saying how tender and tasty it is! Your instructions for a tasty and juicy pork loin were perfect. I was so afraid I would over-cook this meat but you walked me through it and it was soooooo good! And the flavors….. wow! Thank you so much! We had a feast of mashed sweet potatoes, pinto beans, fresh corn on the cob, cornbread and this meat. Perfection.

I brushed the pork with the sauce but then your recipe says save the rest for serving but it's got raw pork juice. Not enough to boil so next time I'll separate it . It was good 👍

Easy! I actually used this on a couple of pork roasts. I seared them in the oven on 450 for 20 minutes and then reduced the heat to 250 and cooked all day. I made extra sauce and basted several times during cooking, and put juice from the drippings over each piece before serving! Yummy!

Tenderloins came out beautiful. Moist but even with all of those spices, I felt the pork was kind of bland. Next time, I will reevaluate what and how much spices are used. Only took about 22 minutes onto roast. Overall, a good recipe to have. Thank you.

SOOO YUMMY and very easy to make. You know when husband says "you can make this again" you did something right lol. The orange slices not only looks beautiful but the added citrus flavour enhances. I didn't have Rosemary so I used basil instead. Love finding new recipes that works out so well.

The flavor from the herbs and drizzled sauce is amazing! My kids, 13, and 11 love this as well. I do add sage to the herbs just because I love sage with pork. The timing is just right for me. And this is such a quick meal for weeknights with the kids and there late night soccer practice. I buy my pork from Trader Joes and pair this with their veggie and rice stir fry bagged mix!

This was so good, I had bought the Pork Tenderloin from Costco that is a four pack and thought they looked thin so I made all of them. I did need to doubled the rub but the sauce was plenty as written. It made the house smell so good and my adult children loved it.

    2023-01-28 14:40:59

I had to bake mine for a good hour; after 30 minutes it was still raw inside??

  • Mariana

    2023-01-22 23:11:46

This was very good! I ended up broiling it for a couple of mins for more color (mine didn't look like the pic but i might have not browned it as much in the skillet before putting it in the oven) and it was excellent! The sauce was pretty good and I think I'd drizzle an extra small teaspoon of honey on top before broiling it for the color and extra flavor. I will def be making it again

  • Jan

    2023-01-22 22:46:13

30 minutes was too long. The pork was a bit overcooked. Next time I will pull it out 10 min earlier. The flavour is delicious. I want to try making it again.

  • Tammy

    2023-01-12 15:13:17

The recipe itself is excellent. Please note however that you should not use the reserved sauce for dipping. After you've had a pastry brush in the sauce and back and forth to the port, that is a major health hazard.

This recipe was so easy. My husband loved it so much he gave me a hug and said he'd marry me all over again. My dad (who barely eats), wasted half of his and my husband was ready to fight him. He wants me to put this in the regular rotation.

Super moist and flavorful. Put on the dry rub and let 2 tenderloins sit in fridge for about 3 hours. I used half the amount of Siracha and it was just on the edge of spicy. It also was done after first 15 minutes in the oven, after a good sear on all sides. Brought it out and let rest covered for 10 minutes. Very moist and flavorful- leftovers will go in a Bahn Mi or rice dish tonight.

With only the two of us, I always need to reduce the measurements of these recipes. Thus, I put the recipe in my Master Cookbook which does the math reductions for me. With one pork tenderloin and our not eating as much as in our earlier years, this was more than adequate for two meals.

I was looking for a quick, easy, and flavorful pork loin recipe and this recipe nailed it. My family said it's definitely a 'keeper' recipe. I get nervous when I see soy/honey in sauce because it can sometime be overpowering but this one matched the rest of the flavors and textures really well. The only place I detoured from the instructions/recipe was that I sprinkled a little cornstarch on the pork loin before putting the sauce on to help it stick and be glaze-like. It's not necessary, the sauce sticks to the meat just fine. I'm really glad I found this recipe!

A breeze to make! I used my sauteuse pan and after browning popped the entire pan in the oven to finish the requisite time. I checked mine after 15 minutes and it read done, but needed another five. For the sauce, because of my health restrictions, I lowered honey to one tablespoon, kept the sriracha and olive oil at one tablespoon, reduced the soy sauce to one tablespoon, used my garlic press for the garlic and filled in with water. I mixed ahead of time and it thickened nicely. I was careful to drizzle over the meat so as not to contaminate the glaze itself. I then used the leftover glaze on a quinoa and raw veggie salad as a side with steamed green beans. Gave a nice kick to the quinoa.
