How to bake chicken breasts

Pound chicken the chicken breasts to an even thickness, especially if you don’t slice them to make them thinner. This will tenderize the chicken meat and ensure the chicken breasts cook faster and more evenly.

Season the chicken breasts with a mix of spices, then rub with oil. Arrange each chicken breast in the baking pan on the rimmed baking sheet. They can slightly touch because the meat will shrink as it cooks, but make sure the chicken breasts don’t overlap.

Roast the chicken breasts in the oven at 425℉ (220ºC) for about 15-18 minutes, a bit longer if they are thick. Remove the pan from the oven and allow the chicken some time to rest before slicing or serving.
