Instead of offering the usual fat and salty potato chips, this is a good way to entertain our taste buds in a healthy way with these apple chips.

So here we go.

Preheat your oven to (120°c) and gather your equipment: a chef knife , an apple corer, a cutting board and an apple of course.

The apple must be very clean as we will keep the skin on.

Core the apple using your apple corer.

Then firmly grip the apple with your hand while cutting thin slices (about 2mm).

Hint: form a “claw” with your hand as you will prevent hurting yourself in case of a bad move: the blade would slide against your fingernails.

Set the apple slices on a grid. You can sprinkle cinnamon if you want to flavor them up.

Bake in the oven for 1h to 1h30 depending of the thickness of the slices. The slices will then dry slowly. Open the oven’s door regularly to let steam escape.

Turn the slices on the other side a mid-time.

From time to time, take a slice between your fingers and let it dry outside the oven. The chips are ready when the apple slice becomes firm and crispy after a few moment outside the oven.

Don’t be fooled because the apple chips will always stay soft inside the oven. You will know if they are ready only when you check them outside.

Here’s the result! Now you just have to dispose them on a nice plate or bowl for the aperitif time.
