Ingredients you need for the Grilled Garlic Mushroom Skewers
Directions
1. To make the grilled mushroom skewers: Marinate the sliced mushrooms in the mixture of the remaining ingredients for 30 minutes. In the meantime, soak wooden skewers in water to prevent burning.
2. Skewer the mushrooms (it’s easier when you twist instead of just pick through the mushroom) and grill until just tender and slightly charred, about 2-3 minutes per side.
3. Transfer the grilled mushroom skewers to a serving platter and sprinkle some chopped parsley and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Tips for cooking mushrooms
Mushrooms are very low in fat, packed with nutrients, and super delicious too. It takes just a bit of understanding as to how to get the most out of them. Follow these tips for cooking with mushrooms to ensure that every dish in which you use them will turn out amazing.
How to buy mushrooms
As much as possible, try buying mushrooms fresh. This is not always easy, since mushrooms are often sold in containers wrapped with cling wrap. Purchase them loose if you can. If mushrooms are packaged, look for signs of slime, mold, or shriveling which indicates age. When you buy loose mushrooms, choose firm and evenly colored mushrooms. This is easier if you select them one by one.
How to clean mushrooms
Clean the mushrooms instead of washing underwater. Mushrooms are like sponges, they’ll soak up a lot of moisture, which can lead to sogginess. Just wiping any dirt with a damp cloth is normally all that you will need to do.
How and how long to store mushrooms
Keep mushrooms in your refrigerator for up to about 3-4 days. Don’t keep them for too long or they will get slimy or shrivel. Don’t wrap them in cling wrap as it will trap moisture. Use a brown paper bag instead, or on the packaging tray covered with a damp paper towel.
How to cook mushrooms
Sautéing is the most common method of cooking mushrooms, but you can also grill, broil, or roast them!
- Do not crowd the pan: Mushrooms are full of water and need room around them when they cook. If you crowd the pan, you mushrooms will steam and won’t get that nice golden caramelized color.
- Let the mushroom sit in the pan. Do not keep stirring. To develop that beautiful caramelized color, let the mushrooms sit before stirring or turning.
- It is best to serve mushrooms right after cooking, or the flesh will darken and won’t be as appetizing. This does not matter so much if you are using mushrooms in a sauce.
