This potato cake recipe is a breeze to make and will get everyone happy around the table! It is similar to our popular Baked Mashed Potato Cakes or Baked Swiss Chard and Potato Cakes, but this time we’ll cook them on the stove in a skillet. If you’re feeling adventurous, some nice additions would be chopped spring onions, sautéed mushrooms, or French onion (Oh wait! We also have this French Onion Mashed Potato Cakes recipe!)

Key Ingredients for the Mashed Potato Cakes

  • Cooked mashed potatoes: You can use leftovers for another dinner, or make them on the spot. Check our recipe for mashed potatoes
  • Egg: It helps bind the patties together.
  • Garlic: Fresh and finely minced!
