Want some sweetness? I got some for you. Unlike fruit ice cream and sorbets that are better with seasonal produces, this delicious match tea ice cream can be done throughout the year. It is imperative to have an ice cream maker to achieve it. The completion of the ice takes little time. You can shorten the preparation if you buy a ready-made custard. If you have more time, make this cream by yourself, it will be only better!

About Matcha Tea

Matcha is one of the most refined green tea available on the market. The first thing that one notices is the emerald colored flour. Matcha contains higher concentrations of vitamins and antioxidants than other teas. Coming from Japan, matcha tea is produced following a particular process. After being steamed and dried, veins and stems are removed then the pure leaves are stone ground to from this typical thin powder.

  • 2 cups (50 cl) of liquid custard
  • 1 cup (25 cl) of liquid cream
  • 1 tablespoon of powdered Matcha green tea
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar

Preparation: Matcha Tea Ice Cream

In a bowl, mix tea, cream and sugar with a whisk . Mix thoroughly until there are no more lumps. Gradually add the custard.  Book in the refrigerator for cooling the preparation. Pour in ice cream maker and turbines to the consistency of ice cream. Dispose in a container with lid, and freeze until ready to serve. Enjoy!
