What Ingredients Do You Need For Garlic Butter Steak Bites?

  • Garlic: the more the better.
  • Butter: We use unsalted butter because you can control the amount of salt in the dish.
  • Steak: use a sirloin steak in this recipe and cut it into small pieces.
  • Olive Oil: Extra virgin, cold-pressed.
  • Salt and fresh cracked black pepper: To season the steak bites to your liking.
  • Red Pepper Flakes: For a kick of spice. If you want your steak mild, just skip the pepper flakes.
  • Parsley: Garnish with a little bit of parsley because it brings freshness and makes the dish look better!

How to Marinate Steak

How do you make a steak marinade? For this garlic butter steak recipe, we make a 20-minute marinade that will transform any cuts into delicious and tender steak with wonderful flavor.

This steak marinade starts with a base of soy sauce and lemon juice which makes a perfect combo for tenderizing the meat. Whisk the soy sauce and lemon juice together with the olive oil, hot sauce, and black pepper. The homemade steak marinade will infuse into the meat for huge flavor. Add the steak and the marinade into a sealable bag before throwing your steak on the grill.

How to Make Garlic Butter Steak Bites

Garlic butter steak bites couldn’t be any easier. The key is to use a really hot skillet so that you get a nice golden crust on your steak bites. The steak bites really only require about 5 to 7 minutes if the skillet is hot enough.

Do not stir the steak bites for the first 1 or 2 minutes, allow them to get a nice sear from the skillet. A cast-iron skillet is the best choice for these steak bites as that type of pan can get really hot with an even distribution of heat!

Start cooking the steak in a little olive oil for the browning factor so that the butter and garlic you’ll add afterward don’t burn. Add the olive oil to a large skillet and heat it over high heat. Make sure the olive oil is hot, then add the steak pieces to it. Season them generously with salt and pepper.

1. To prepare the garlic butter steak bites recipe: In a mixing bowl, combine the ingredients for the steak marinade (soy sauce, olive oil, hot sauce, pepper, and lemon juice) and add the steak bites. Mix well and marinate for 15 to 20 minutes minimum, while preparing the other ingredients.

2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Drain steak bites from the marinade. Keep the remaining marinade for later.

3. Place the steak bites in the skillet in a single layer.  Do not overcrowd the skillet or meat will steam, so you may have to work in batches depending on the size of your skillet. Cook steak bites for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally until steak bites are golden brown. Repeat with remaining steak bites if needed.

4. Once all the steak bites are golden brown, add 2 tablespoons of butter and garlic to the skillet; cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring to coat the meat in the sauce. Remove the steak bites to a shallow plate and set them aside.

5. In the same skillet, add butter, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, beef broth, and remaining marinade juices. Bring to a simmer and allow to reduce for 2-3 minutes, stirring regularly.

6. Add the spiralized zucchini noodles and toss for two to three minutes to cook it up. Stir in the fresh parsley and thyme, then allow the cooking juices to reduce for one minute if the zucchini noodles render too much water. Push the zucchini noodles on the side, add the steak bites back to the pan and reheat for another minute. Serve immediately your garlic butter steak bites and zucchini noodles. Enjoy!

Tips for the steak bites recipe

  • You can also use tenderloin, rib eye, flank, or strip steak if you like.
  • Zucchini Noodles tends to render a lot of water when cooking, so you can sprinkle with salt after spiralizing and allow to sit for a couple of minutes to take off excess water. Rinse well to get rid of salt and drain thoroughly in a colander before cooking.
  • Instead of broth, you can enrich the dish with dry white wine.

This was FANTASTIC. I have made it several times since finding this recipe. The noodles are a little hard to make so now I just cube it and it's just as good.

This was delicious, however, it was super spicy! My whole family loves spicy food, but this was holy cow spicy. They did go back for more though and started adding ranch dressing to it.

This was a no go for me. Sauce had an odd taste-way too lemony not enough garlic and butter. Steak turned out okay but noodles were ruined.

Zoodles were way too mushy and way too strong. Don’t cook them in the liquid. If anything try cooking the steak in them. Wubalubadubdub

Way too much liquid and caused zoodles to get super mushy. Steak was good but I bought wagyu. So!? If you make this I would not cook zoodles in the liquid.

so good. but it’s kind of spicy and tangy. if you don’t like a tangy taste, i wouldn’t recommend this recipe

Good taste but Tasted very salty, not sure if that’s due to the lemon. I liked the heat but worried I was consuming a lot of sodium. I don’t know how this could be considered a healthy recipe with the butter and soy? Tasted good but I have no idea how many calories I consumed and would not recommend as a healthy meal. Good, salty steak dish.

Yum! Little too much lemon. But still good.

This came up under whole 30 steak recipes. This is not W30 compliant. Can’t have butter, soy sauce or sriracha sauce. Can do a variation and make it compliant, but recipe does not specify that you need to make substitutions. Was going to make it for my daughter who does whole 30, she pointed out the substitutions we would have to make. Will make with subs because it looks really good.

I feel like the name of the dish is "lemon garlic" and you had me add, not only a spicy sriracha but also pepper flakes and i was not prepared for it to be so spicy when I had looked for a lemon garlic dish. This was to surprise for my girlfriend but she hasn't eaten any because it burns just a bit more than the recipe had prepped me for. I thought the spice would help with the lemon but it just overpowered it, use less hot sause.

Delicious! The spice added just enough warmth but too much lemon, use a small lemon
