Tips for cooking shrimp

  • Make sure your shrimp are deveined. Deveined shrimps taste better, and the doneness of the shrimp is easier to judge because there’s more exposed surface area.
  • Make sure all of your shrimp are the same size. Do not mix up bags of frozen shrimps with different sizes because some will be just cooked when the others are overdone. Also, throw them to the pan at the same time, without overlapping.
  • How long to cook shrimp? Shrimp cook very quickly so do not turn your attention to anything else while they’re on the heat. Only a few minutes are necessary for even the largest shrimp to start turning pink and curling up into a C shape, meaning they are almost done.
