Grilled Shrimp with Honey Garlic Lemon Glaze

Garlic Honey Lemon Grilled Shrimp is healthy, incredibly flavorful, and quick to make for a warm-weather dinner. The tangy sweet glaze is prepared with honey, lemon, garlic and ginger with a kick of chili pepper. A perfect crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients list for the Garlic Honey Lemon Grilled  Shrimp

  • 1 lb (450g) shelled and deveined shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice 
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Crushed red chili pepper flakes
  • 1-inch fresh ginger, grated
  • Lemon slices
  • Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish

1. Soak the wooden skewers for 20 minutes before grilling. Heat your grill to medium high heat, about 400ºF (200°C).

2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter then add in fresh ginger and garlic. Stir until fragrant, about 1 minute. Next add in crushed red pepper, honey, salt and lemon juice. Stir to combine and let simmer for 4-5 minutes.

3. In the meantime, place shrimp on wooden skewers, alternating with slices of lemon. Using a brush, gently brush the honey garlic glaze on both sides of the shrimp.

4. Transfer shrimp on the grill. Grill for 3-4 minutes and flip over and grill on the other side for 4-5 minutes. Brush the honey garlic glaze on both sides and grill each side for one more minute. Remove from grill. You can glaze the shrimp one last time and serve immediately garnished with chopped cilantro. Enjoy!
