Yield: 4 servings Prep Time: 10 min Cook time: 12 min
Try our fried collard greens simmered with onion, garlic, and a hot sauce kick. This easy, low-carb collard greens side dish is your perfect weeknight lifesaver that pairs with any protein!
Ingredients you need for the Quick Fried Collard Greens with Onion
Directions
1. To make the sauteed collard greens with onion: Heat oil in a deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, and cook for 3-4 minutes, until softened. Add the garlic, salt, and pepper, then cook for 30 seconds until the garlic is fragrant.
2. Add the chopped collard greens to the Dutch oven and cook for 3 minutes or until collard greens are wilted. Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a simmer.
3. Reduce the heat to a low simmer, then cover the Dutch oven and let steam the collard greens for 5 minutes or until collard greens are tender. Stir in the hot sauce and cook for 5 minutes to reduce the sauce. Sprinkle with red chili pepper flakes, if you like.
4. Transfer the collard greens and onion to a serving dish and serve immediately. Enjoy! ❤️
