Did you ever taste sweet potatoes? Here is an original healthy puree recipe with sweet potato, potato and Chinese cabbage and some little crunchy slices of ham, just fried in a pan… Cabbage is here only for the cooking and will be used for a different recipe after.

Ingredients: sweet potato, potato and cabbage with slices of fried ham

  • 3 stock cubes for 3 pints (1,5 liters) of water
  • 4 potatoes
  • A sweet potato
  • Half a medium Chinese cabbage

Cooking Instructions

Peel potatoes and sweet potatoes, cut them into pieces and put them in a saucepan with water, broth and chopped cabbage. No need to add salt.

Cook over low heat for about 25 minutes.

For the cabbage soup:

Retrieve the potatoes and sweet potato pieces and set aside.
Mix the remaining (mainly cabbage) with an immersion blender to obtain a well-flavored broth…

Well, that’s it!

For the potatoes puree:

Mix the reserved vegetables in your blender. Possibly adding a piece of butter and place in small individual containers.

For the decoration: cut rectangles in slices of ham and sear them on the pan, 3 minutes on each side, to make them crispy.

Then install them on the puree and serve hot …

This mashed sweet potatoes puree is excellent with white fish.
