Deliciously dense and moist — enjoy comfort food at its best.
Ingredients you need for the Glazed Strawberry Pound Cake
Directions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
2. Spray or butter and flour a pan">round cake pan or a spring pan.
3. In a large bowl, beat eggs, sugar, lime juice and lime zest.
4. Add yogurt and oil and beat slowly to get an homogenous mixture.
5. Sift flour and baking powder over the bowl. And mix to combine.
6. Pour batter into the prepared pan (don’t fill your pan to the top or the cake will overflow). Bake the cake until tester inserted into center comes out clean, about 30 minutes. Cool cake in pan for 15 minutes. Turn the cake out onto a cooling rack and cool completely.
7. In the meanwhile, make the icing: beat 2 tablespoons eggwhites plus a coffeespoon of icing sugar and lime juice. Add more sugar if it’s still too liquid.
8. Pour the royal icing over the cake and make beautiful drippings on the sides. Garnish on top with strawberries, sprinkle with icing sugar and grated lime zest.
