The sweet and spicy marinade adds a serious pop of flavor to the meat while keeping the hands-on time to a minimum. 25 minutes in your air fryer and here’s the result: extra-tender short ribs with incredible umami flavor that will pair perfectly with asparagus or mashed potatoes. - 2 pounds (900g) bone-in beef short ribs (fresh, tender pieces, with marbled fat if possible)
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce (or Tamari)
- 1 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Sriracha
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish

Directions
1. Pat the short ribs dry and place them in a large bowl.
2. In a smaller bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, olive oil, garlic, black pepper, Sriracha, and red pepper flakes. Divide the mixture into two portions: One for the marinade, the other for serving.
3. Pour the marinade over the beef short ribs and mix until the short ribs are well coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before cooking.
4. Once ready to cook, preheat your air fryer to 360ºF (180ºC) for 5 minutes. Place the short ribs in the air fryer basket, with the meat side facing down.
5. Cook the short ribs on air fry mode at 360°F (180°C) for 10 minutes. Flip the short ribs and brush with more marinade if you like.
6. Air-fry the short ribs for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the ribs reach an internal temperature of about 190°F. Let the ribs sit for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish the air-fried short ribs with additional red chili pepper flakes and fresh cilantro, and serve with the remaining marinade on the side. Enjoy! ❤️

Tips for the air fryer short ribs recipe
- We used bone-in short ribs for the flavor and presentation, but this recipe also works great with boneless short ribs. You will reduce the total cooking time a little bit – 5 minutes or so.
- Make sure to get nice short ribs marbled with fat. They will get more tender as they cook. If fat is a concern, trim the parts you don’t want from the outside with a sharp knife.
- Do not overcrowd your air fryer basket with too many short ribs. Leave a little space between them to allow for air circulation and a nice caramelization.
