Instant Pot Applesauce — If you love homemade applesauce, you’ve got to try this method. Apples cook in only 4 minutes in the pressure cooker together with a hint of cinnamon and lemon for a dessert everyone will love. Absolutely delicious and comes out perfect every time.

Ingredients list for the instant pot applesauce
- 3 to 4 lbs of apples (about 7 to 10 apples), peeled, cored, and halved (we used a mix of Gala and Macintosh)
- 2 strips of lemon zest
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar (or combine with white sugar)
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 knob of butter

Directions
1. Place apples in the electric pressure cooker or Instant Pot. Add water and all other ingredients.
2. Close the lid and turn vent to seal. Set up to 4 minutes cooking in quick/high pressure mode. Let the cycle run and when over, press the cancel button.
3. Turn the vent to open and allow the pressure cooker release pressure. Open the lid, remove lemon zest and cinnamon stick, stir and mash applesauce with a potato masher until you get the desired consistency. Transfer to an airtight container
Recipes notes: Applesauce is even better the next day! Chill overnight to let the cinnamon and lemon flavor meld with the sweet and tart apples even more.
