Ingredients list for the pan-seared shrimp recipe
- 1 1/2 lbs (700g) medium raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- Salt and fresh cracked pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup (60ml) vegetable stock
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha, optional
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Red chili pepper flakes, optional
- Fresh parsley, chopped

Recipe highlights
- Quick and Easy: This recipe relies mainly on kitchen staples. You need olive oil, butter, some basic spices, and fresh garlic to make delicious shrimp in just minutes!
- Versatile: You can tweak the flavors with different spices (try coriander, chili, or cumin). Serve it with steamed or roasted vegetables (cauliflower rice is a must here), pasta, rice, or couscous.

Directions
1. In a bowl or shallow plate, season shrimp with salt and pepper.
2. Heat a large skillet with one tablespoon of oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Once butter is bubbling, add the seasoned shrimp. Cook shrimp for 1-2 minutes on one side.
3. Add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and onion powder to the shrimp. Stir to combine, then flip the shrimp to cook on the other side.
4. Cook shrimp for 1 minute, then add 1/4 cup vegetable stock and Sriracha. Let the sauce reduce for 1 minute, making sure not to overcook the shrimp.
5. Adjust seasoning as needed with black pepper and red chili pepper flakes. Stir in the parsley, and serve the shrimp immediately. Enjoy!

Pro tips
- Cook the shrimp undisturbed for one or two minutes on the first side, so they develop a nice crust. Refrain from moving them around at the beginning; otherwise, they will steam rather than sear. Once seared on this other side and the moisture is locked in, you can toss them around in the pan with garlic, herbs, and spices.
