Ingredients list for the lettuce wrap

  • 1 head Boston lettuce or iceberg lettuce, cored and outer leaves removed
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise or mustard
  • 4 slices organic turkey
  • 2 slices cooked ham (we used maple smoked)
  • 1 thick slice mozzarella cheese, cut in 3
  • 2 slices tomato, cut in half
  • 1 thin slice red onion
  • 1 square of parchment paper, 14″ x 14″ (35x35cm)

1. Lay a square of parchment onto your work surface. Layer 4 – 5 pieces of lettuce in the middle of parchment paper. You can slightly split the thick, white base of the leaf with a knife to make it easier to roll.

2. Spread mayonnaise or mustard in the middle of the lettuce wrap. Layer turkey, ham, on top of the mayonnaise.

 3. Continue with cheese, red onion.

 4. Finish with tomato.

5. Using parchment paper as a guide, roll the lettuce up as tightly as you can. Once you start rolling, tuck the ends of the wraps towards the inside, and continue rolling like a sleeping bag. When it is completely wrapped, tightly roll the remainder of the parchment around the lettuce.

6. Using a sharp or serrated knife, slice through the lettuce wrap almost completely, leaving the bottom piece of the parchment paper intact to keep pieces together. Enjoy!

Full Directions

2. Spread mayonnaise or mustard in the middle of the lettuce wrap. Layer turkey, ham,  cheese, red onion, and tomato on top of mayonnaise.

3. Using parchment paper as a guide, roll the lettuce up as tightly as you can. Once you start rolling, tuck the ends of the wraps towards the inside, and continue rolling like a sleeping bag. When it is completely wrapped, tightly roll the remainder of the parchment around the lettuce.

4. Using a sharp or serrated knife, slice through the lettuce wrap almost completely, leaving the bottom piece of the parchment paper intact to keep pieces together. Enjoy!
