Ingredients you need for the Creamy Mushroom Soup
Directions
1. To make the creamy mushroom soup: Heat butter and oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat until melted. Sauté onion for 2 to 3 minutes until softened; add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
2. Add sliced mushrooms and two teaspoons of fresh thyme, and cook for 5 minutes.
3. Sprinkle mushrooms with flour, mix well and cook for 2 minutes. Add the chicken broth, mix again and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low-medium heat, and season with salt and pepper.
4. Cover the mushroom soup and allow to simmer for 10-15 minutes, while occasionally stirring, until the soup has thickened.
5. Reduce heat to low, and stir in cream. Allow to gently simmer (do not boil). Adjust seasoning if you like. Mix in parsley and remaining thyme. Serve the creamy mushroom soup immediately. Enjoy!❤️

Tips for choosing and buying mushrooms
When choosing and buying mushrooms at the grocery store, it is important to look for firm, dry mushrooms that do not have any visible signs of decay. It is also important to check the package label to make sure that the mushrooms are not past their expiration date. Depending on the type of mushroom desired, it is important to note that some mushrooms, such as shiitake, are more expensive than other types of mushrooms.
Additionally, it is important to know the difference between store-bought mushrooms and wild mushrooms, as store-bought mushrooms are often safer to consume. Finally, it is important to handle the mushrooms with care and to make sure that they are properly stored when they are taken home.
