To quickly hull a strawberry, insert the blade of a paring knife into the fruit at a 45° angle where the core and flesh meet. Rotate the knife and fruit in opposite directions, keeping your thumb in the same position to guide the fruit. Once the berry has made a full rotation, the core will release easily. This allows you to keep an intact berry for your recipes, without wasting flesh.
