Accent walls — they not only bring perspective and contrast into your home, but they’re also an easy way to naturally add color to any kind of spaces, including the kitchen of course. This bold statement unifies the two spaces and adds energy to an otherwise empty and dull space. If you opt for an eclectic style and you like to gather objects from various inspirations, a bright bold color will create the perfect counterpoint to unify the decor. This works especially in large open spaces.
In this open kitchen composition, the designers from CG&S Design-Build, Austin, TX, kept the kitchen with neutral tones and white walls, creating red-colored accents all around the kitchen. This set-up creates the feeling that the kitchen “blends” into the overall architecture with several focus points that enhance the contemporary edge while maintaining a certain warmth.
