Katia’s question:
“Hello, I’m currently revamping my old kitchen. The walls are green and have to be entirely refaced and the kitchen is dark, very dark! How to bring light in my kitchen — there is only one window? What color should I use? Thank you in advance for your advice.”
Editor’s answer: Use a light shade of paint!
Hello Katia, first of all I recommend you completely repaint the walls of your kitchen with a very light color: linen beige for example. You will not necessarily need to repaint the doors of your closet because the paint will bring a lot of light!
However, if you want to reface your kitchen cabinets, know that it is possible to paint on laminate panels from the moment you apply a primer before painting with acrylic. Here’s a step by step tutorial to repaint your laminate kitchen cabinets. For a kitchen full of pizzaz, choose yourself to a light burgundy or a duck blue which will work well with the chic beige walls.
Remember to change the light fixtures and opt for halogen spotlights with dimmer to modulate the light depending on the time of day!
