The cucumber is such a wonderful vegetable for its freshness and good support in many dishes from salads to cold soups. There are many ways to cut a cucumber, depending on the recipe you want to make. Cucumbers do require a small amount of prep work, but it only takes a vegetable peeler, a sharp knife and a cutting board. Read on for our step-by-step instructions.

First off, rinse the cucumber without soaking it. Peel it lengthwise with a vegetable peeler. Trim the ends then cut into two parts so it’s easier to manipulate.

  • 1st row: To simply mince the cucumber, hold it firmly on the cutting board then make thin round slices.
  • 2nd row: If you want to create nice looking halved cucumber slices, split the cucumber lengthwise and then scrape the seeds with a spoon. Then slice the halved cucumber.
