For our everyday pies and quiches, lot of us tend to buy ready-made dough from our local supermarket. But preparing an homemade dought is not so long and remains less expensive. Do not forget that industrial dough is prepared by machines and consequently is doesn’t have that aspect and taste of a hand-made one. Althought it is a kitchen classic, the working of the dough remains the main key success factor
Preparation time: 10 min
Ingredients for a quick and cheap pie dough
For 4 Persons
2 cups (250 g) of flour
1/2 (10 cl) of oil
1 1/4 cups of hot water
A little bit of salt
In a bowl, put flour and salt. Mix.
Then add oil and warm water.
Mix quickly to obtain an homogeneous ball.
This paste is spread by hand in a pie plate. Cooking time: 25 min.
Though, if the dough sticks to your fingers, add the flour so that it no longer sticks to form a smooth paste, the amount of flour and water can vary depending on oil and type of flour used.
